The purpose of the task is to study the effectiveness of the use of agricultural machinery in the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. Research methods. In experimental researches laboratory-field tests, production-chronographic observations were carried out, computational experiments were used, analytical researches of models of machine units with the help of software products with the use of computer technology were used. The report presents the results of research on agronomic requirements for machine units with disk working bodies, which are currently used to study the quality of mechanized technological operations. Research has shown that some indicators, in modern conditions, have lost their relevance and are not required for research, as they are being replaced by electronic control systems. Instead, the established indicators that significantly affect the development of the root system of the plant and, consequently, the realization of the biological potential of agriculture have not been taken into account before. The materials present the results of research on the performance of machine units in the field during tillage with disk working bodies in different farms of Sumy region.
