The purpose of the work is to investigate theoretical developments in the study of applied social and communication technologies in the information society and to form basic concept of the use of applied social and communication technologies by the subjects of social and business activities in society. Research methods - a set of general scientific (analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, formalization, terminological analysis, comparison, modeling) and special scientific research methods based on the socio-communication paradigm, taking into account the characteristics of the subject of study and tasks. The cultural-historical method allowed us to consider media phenomena in their genesis. Method of induction, deduction, analogy, comparison - to highlight the main tasks, tools. Empirical: observation, monitoring; elements of qualitative content analysis - to trace the patterns and quantitative characteristics of the results in media messages, for in-depth study of textual material. The results and conclusions of the research are implemented in the educational process of training bachelors and masters in the specialty 061 "Journalism" OP "Advertising and Public Relations". The results of scientific developments of the staff of the Department of Advertising and Public Relations are published in the scientific collection "Communications and Communicative Technologies". The collective monograph "Mediasphere: Local and Global" in 2021 summarizes the results of research on GDR. Theoretical generalizations and methodological developments can be used in the social sciences and humanities, and practical conclusions and recommendations can be used to improve the education system in the field of public relations, advertising, optimizing the use of applied social communication technologies in the region and Ukraine in general.
