A mathematical model has been created, with the help of which it is possible to determine the forecast thermogram of aluminum wire rod production on a foundry-rolling unit, which allows to study the influence of heat losses on the main production indicators and reasonably adjust technology and improve control algorithms. An algorithm and method of material distribution in the fields of the receiving trench of the ore yard of the metallurgical plant are proposed, according to which there is a reduction of total deviations of iron content from the average by 2 times, and fluctuations in mass of materials between fields do not exceed 350t. It is established that the duration of coke combustion depends on the fractionality of crushed fuel. To reduce the impact of washing loads on the grinding material, it is necessary to change the scheme of fuel crushing with the introduction of its pre-scattering. The use of heat exchangers when heating metal in thermal furnaces is proposed. With the help of research conducted on a mathematical model, it was found that the effect of their use provides an average increase in the efficiency of the furnace by 5-15%, while the cost of installation and maintenance of this equipment pays for itself 5-10 times.
