The reference values of the corresponding descriptors have been calculated. On the example of the Lower Dnipro sub-basin, classification tables have been developed to assess the ecological status / potential of surface water bodies. Taking into account the approaches of the EU WFD to the determination of high modified surface water bodies and an assessment of their hydromorphological status and based on the developed zoning procedure recommendations for monitoring the Dnieper reservoirs have been proposed.
