The subject of research – is the impact of information technology on decision support processes to respond to emergencies in the process of transportation of petroleum products and increase the degree of protection of the population and territories of Ukraine from emergencies of man-made and natural nature and minimize their consequences. The purpose of the work – is to develop requirements for the structure and methods of application of the information system for the control over the transportation of petroleum products and ensure its fire safety. The peculiarities of the process of transportation of oil products by motor territory on the territory of Ukraine are determined and described. The world and national experience related to decision support processes for responding to accidents and emergencies during transportation of petroleum products by road is analyzed. However, it is determined that in modern conditions of using technologies for collecting, processing, storing and transmitting information, operational coordination centers in the regions should receive information about emergencies and accidents within seconds of the accident.
