The purpose of the work - coal concentrates, coal charge, blast furnace coke, the scheme of preparation and conditions of coking of coal charge, post-furnace processing of blast furnace coke. Research methods - standardized methods for determining the properties of coal: sieve, technical, plastometric, petrographic, showcase reflectogram and elemental analysis. In addition, the expansion pressure and bulk density of coal and charge were determined. DSTU 7611: 2014 "Coal. Method for determining oxidation and oxidation state" was used to determine the oxidation index of coal and charge. Novelty of the research results: for the first time it was established that the formation of heat of combustion of coke is due to a complex set of technological factors that characterize the properties of raw materials, the conditions of its preparation. Reduction of carbon (hydrogen) content by 1%, increase of oxygen content in coal during its oxidation leads to an increase of 0.26 (1.46) and 0.22 MJ / kg of the highest heat of combustion of blast furnace coke; increasing the content of class 0-3 mm in the coal charge by 1% leads to a decrease in the value of the highest heat of combustion by an average of 0.0067 MJ / kg; increasing the bulk density of coal charge by 100 kg / m3 leads to an increase in the highest heat of combustion of blast furnace coke by 0.05-0.12 MJ / kg.
