The purpose of the work is to develop applied and technological solutions to prevent and counteract alkaline corrosion of concrete. Research methods: physico-chemical, physico-mechanical research methods according to current regulations. The influence of the type and content of the alkaline component on the alkalinity of the alkaline cement medium at different stages of hardening has been studied. Regularities of alkaline cement structure formation processes with the use of alkaline component in the form of dry salt have been established. Physico-mechanical parameters of cement mortars and concretes with the use of both inert and active aggregates have been studied. Indicators of shrinkage deformations of systems are investigated. Mechanisms of influence on reduction of indicators of swelling of systems owing to the destruction caused by alkaline corrosion of a filler are established. An experiment was conducted on the possibility of reducing the intensity or stopping the corrosion processes occurring in the contact zone "cement - aggregate" by eliminating the influence of factors influencing the development of corrosion processes. Recommendations for the possibility of reducing the intensity of the reaction "alkali - aggregate" or its termination, depending on the component composition of concrete and conditions for its care.
