A theoretical description for the thermodynamic and structural properties of model hard sphere fluid in random porous media was developed, which is important for the description of the reference system. In particular, on the basis of scaled particle theory, the analytical expressions for Helmholtz free energy, chemical potential, pressure, and contact value are obtained. Since the particles in a living cell are different in size, energy, charge, and many other characteristics, it is proposed to use such a coarse-grained model to mimic and predict the properties of globular proteins in the cell environment. It is shown that polydispersity increases the critical temperature and density expanding the region of gas-liquid phase coexistence, and also slightly weakens cluster formation in comparison with the monodisperse case.  Product Description popup.authors Hvozd Taras V. popup.nrat_date 2022-03-09 Close
