The aim of research is to develop scientific basis of organocatalytic methods for glycerol oxidatio and its derivatives by oxygen in commercially important products with high added value. Search, systematization and generalization of literature data on methods of obtaining various N-hydroxyphthalimide (NHPI) derivatives and their precursors (substituted phthalic acids) was carried out. Method of obtaining NHPI was optimized and required amount was developed to develop a method of glycerol oxidation with oxygen. Research was carried out to obtain a number of intermediates (nitro- and alkyl derivatives of phthalic acid and their anhydrides). Methods of 3-nitrophthalic and 4-tert-butylphthalic acids synthesis and their anhydrides as precursors for obtaining corresponding Ν-hydroxyimides have been developed. Collection and analysis of information on use NHPI as a catalyst in oxidation of hydrocarbons by oxygen.
