The results of the research work: - according to the results of regression analysis, it was established that the selection of Holstein dairy cattle to increase protein milk yield should be continued, as selection for fat milk production will significantly reduce the protein content in milk; - live weight of heifers and body structure measurements partially influenced the sex of the offspring during the 1st calving - bulls were more often born to first-borns who had a higher live weight at the age of 9-18 months and larger linear body structure measurements, which agrees with the Trivers hypothesis.
