Key words: SCATTERING, QUANTUM SCATTERING CROSS SECTION, THIN CRYSTALS Object of research: process of scattering of fast charged particles in straight thin crystal. Purpose of research: determination of optimal parameters for an experiment on measurement of scattering cross sections of accelerated positrons and electrons passing through the field of atomic planes of a thin crystal. Methods of research: calculation of a total quantum scattering cross section basing upon the wave function calculated within the operator method of quantum electrodynamics. Dependences on particle energy of total and differential quantum scattering cross sections of positively and negatively charged particles in the field of (110) atomic planes of thin silicon crystal as a function of particle energy are calculated. The differences of positron scattering cross sections in the calculations in the real continuous potential and in the model quadratic potential are considered. It is shown that in the experiment it is sufficient to perform measurements only in the small vicinity of the zeroth diffraction maximum in the momentum space. It is proposed to measure experimentally the dependence of scattering cross sections as function of particle energy and crystal thicknesses are selected, for which the minima of these values are mostly expressed. It is shown that at MeV energies the described experimental study is possible not only for positively charged particles – positrons, but also for negatively charged particles – electrons.
