The purpose of the study: analysis of ecological parameters of animal populations in ecosystems of different pesticide load, toxic effects of pesticides in animals, determination of validity of molecular biomarkers for evaluation of the pesticide toxic effects. Methods of research: analysis of literature, cell cultivation, molecular and biochemical methods. Theoretical and practical results: pyrethroids and neonicotinoids can change the ecological parameters of lacertid populations. Neonicotinoids affect growth, reproduction, fertility, behavior and molecular biochemical processes in Eisenia fetida. Alpha-cypermethrin causes the activation of mitochondria-dependent apoptosis of nervous cells related to the oxidative stress. The protein p53 regulates the expression of genes and may be a molecular genetic biomarker of pyrethroid toxic effects. The release of cytochrome C from the mitochondrial membrane can be also a biomarker of pyrethroid toxicity. Imidacloprid causes an increase in the level of cytokine tumor necrosis factor TNF-α and inducible nitric oxide synthase iNOS in epithelial intestinal cells. Imidacloprid reduces the level of proteins of tight and adhesive junctions – occludin and E-cadherin that disturbs the barrier intestinal function. These indices can be the valid biomarkers of neonicotinoid toxicity. Novelty: the results of the influence of imidacloprid on the level of occludin in the intestinal model cells are presented for the first time. Inducible nitric oxide synthase is a key factor in cellular response to toxicity and oxidative stress. An increase in INOS expression in Caco-2 cells under imidacloprid influence is shown for the first time. Research results are implemented by economic agreements with PE “Karkas-Dnipro”.
