Currently, most of the created green spaces and natural areas within the cities are in the stage of landscape anthropodynamic, endo- and exogenous digression. This state of the main element of urban ecosystems contradicts the main provisions of the concept of sustainable development. This concept provides for the improvement of the relationship between society and nature, solves the issue of successful development of cities and economies in terms of high quality environment and human living space. Optimization of connections, harmonization of relations between the pressure of the metropolis on the environment and natural processes in it is impossible to imagine without the main component of urban ecosystems - green spaces. The aim of the work was to establish the patterns of functioning of urban ecosystems by creating sustainable introductory plant populations and environmentally efficient, close to natural, system of greenery. The regularities of adaptive variability in the formation of population structure in the conditions of introduction are established, the possibilities of controlling the speed of ontogenetic acclimatization and ecotypic differentiation of species using the method of introductory population in landscape optimization of urban ecosystems are estimated. The main objectives of the work were to develop principles and methods of conservation and enrichment of natural biological diversity in the urban environment - from genetic and species to landscape and ecosystem; ensuring continuous, highly efficient implementation of green, ecological, social and economic functions at the level of the ecotope, ecosystem and urban biogeocenosis in general; raising the level of botanical and environmental education on landscaping and landscaping.
