The object of research is electromagnetic and spin waves in double-link transmission lines with inhomogeneous nonlinear filling. In such systems, the energy of the pulsed wave TEM mode (i.e., the pulse of "direct" electric current) can be transmitted with high efficiency by microwave electromagnetic oscillations. The aim of the research project is to develop a new branch of high-power pulse electronics that does not use intense streams of charged particles in high vacuum and appropriate technical means to create them. The study of the processes of propagation and transformation of wave fields in a coaxial line, which is partially filled with a plasma-like material, namely magnetized ferrite, has been investigated. Research methods include theoretical calculations and modeling of wave fields and processes of video- and radio pulse propagation in lines with nonlinear properties, as well as experiments on high-voltage equipment at voltage levels of 50-300 kV and current pulse amplitudes up to 5 kA. At the 1st stage of the Project technical parameters of several modifications of nonlinear transmission lines (NLTL) were calculated, sets of drawings were made and transferred for manufacturing the facilities intended for experimental studies of microwave excitation by an external video pulse. At the 2nd stage of research, theoretical and experimental studies on the conversion of electromagnetic video pulse energy into microwave oscillations and their analysis was fulfilled: (i) development of analytical theory and numerical modeling of the processes of interaction of the shock wave current with a nonlinear gyrotropic medium in coaxial waveguides; (ii) experimental study of several variants of coaxial NLTL; (iii) analysis of experimental results, numerical modeling and theory.
