The effect of Ce, La, Y compounds on the hysicochemical characteristics and catalytic properties of ZnO (Cu, Ag) / MgO (ZrO2) -SiO2 compositions in the process of obtaining 1,3-butadiene from ethanol-aqueous mixtures was studied. It was found that the introduction of a modifying additive of yttrium Y (III) in the Mg-Al-oxide catalyst provides a yield of 1-butanol 24% (548 K) in the process of gas-phase condensation of ethanol by increasing both ethanol conversion and selectivity of 1-butanol (69%) due to the increase in the surface concentration of the main sites of medium strength compared to the unmodified catalyst.
