S.P. Tymoshenko of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 A computational model for the study of edge effects and near-surface loss of stability in the structure of composite material in an inhomogeneous subcritical state is presented, which analyzes the influence of the edge effect on critical loads and forms of loss of stability of a composite material. A computational model for the study of loss of stability in the structure of a composite material weakly reinforced with short surface fibers under compression is presented, which allows to calculate of the stress-strain state associated with the initial curvature of the fibers and analyze the effect of free surface on critical parameters of composite stability. It is shown that the problems of fracture mechanics of materials with loading along cracks - with initial stresses and with compression along cracks can be considered within the framework of a single integrated approach. A procedure for solving the problem of nonlinear deformation of composite cylindrical shells with imperfections of different types under compressive loads has been developed.
