A program combining physician education and public awareness with infrastructure development for early diagnosis of primary immunodeficiencies has been tested. Training of doctors was more effective compared to raising public awareness. Regular professional development seminars are needed to strengthen this approach and its effectiveness. Recurrent pneumonia, inability of the infant to gain weight, need for intravenous antibiotics, and recurrent sinusitis have been shown to be the most significant signs of PID diagnosis. Other symptoms can also be used to improve the detection of PID: facial dysmorphia and / or microcephaly, chronic diarrhea with malabsorption, lymphopenia, lymphadenopathy or lack of lymphoid organs. The probability of diagnosis increases if there are two or more signs. Product Description popup.authors popup.nrat_date 2022-03-09 Close
