But at the same time, Ukrainian terminology has many problems: the objective and usually positive process of terminology internationalization in some cases results in an overload of scientific and technical speech with lexemes of foreign origin. Determinologisms not only accurately denote certain concepts and help to increase the intellectual level of readers, but also are designed to create new bright and original stylistic devices (tropes, figures of speech) and enhance the emotional impact, make the text more expressive. The amplitude of oscillation in the semantics of a single word from the general, abstract, to the specific and individual, creates unsurpassed оpportunities for stylistic changes. The art of selecting and expediently using figurative means for a specific purpose and in specific circumstances of communication determines the level of speech culture of the individual. The Ukrainian language situation is unique and phenomenal, because it was not the state that protected the language, but the language that provided the opportunities for the revival of the nation and the state. The research of the works of Ukrainian emigrant writers, especially those that are little-known in Ukraine, in perspective allows to highlight the blind spots in the history of Ukrainian literature of the 20th century.
