The subject of the research is modern theoretical and practical aspects of improving the institute of independent, public and internal audit in Ukraine, its functioning with the use of information systems and computer technology. The purpose: to study the theoretical and applied aspects of improving the institution of audit (independent, public and internal), the system of state financial control and modern information technologies in accounting, analysis, taxation and audit based on the study and generalization of global trends, taking into account national characteristics of Ukraine. Research methods. Research was carried out on the basis of general methodological approaches: systemic, complex, targeted, interdisciplinary and dialectical. The theoretical basis of the study are general scientific methods: analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, analogy, abstraction, concretization; methods – review, analytical procedures, generalizations, economic modeling, sampling. The information base of the study was the scientific works of domestic and foreign scientists, laws and regulations, materials of scientific and practical conferences, statistical data, working documents and reports of audit firms, government agencies and professional organizations, Internet sources. Expected result: defense of dissertations for the degree of Candidate of Science and PhD, publication of monographs, scientific articles, theses; development of innovative educational methodological support and its implementation in the educational process; improving the institutional framework, legislative and regulation of audit and public financial control in Ukraine; providing practical recommendations to the subjects of control; deepening of theoretical and applied aspects of application of modern IT  .
