It has been established that female patients after the age of 30 with a chronic course of the disease are prone to anxiety and depressive disorders. The effect of migraine on the components of the quality of life of patients in whom the psychological component of health is reduced to a greater extent than the physical one was analyzed. A differentiated approach to the appointment of preventive treatment has been developed. In frequent attacks with severe cephalic syndrome or concomitant anxiety and depressive disorders, as well as for the treatment of chronic migraine, the drugs of choice should be amitriptyline and propranolol in combination. In long-term attacks, especially in men and in patients with allodynia, it is advisable to prescribe gabapentin. Patients with migraine with aura are prescribed lamotrigine.
