VCD is characterized by low trauma to internal organs due to the use of a protective layer of specially designed nanocomposite with antiseptic properties. VCD allows to create the necessary vacuum in the set places of an abdominal cavity for treatment by a method of compensation of internal pressure and to pump out exudate and purulent allocations. VCD can carry out direct dynamic sanitation of an abdominal cavity by alternating pressure (periodic injection and pumping out of medicines outside) that considerably increases efficiency of treatment of peritonitis. The method of manufacturing VCD and the main principles of nanocomposite production technology for its protective shell with optimal mechanical, sorption and antiseptic properties are described in detail. Methods of their control are described. Several variants of functional design of drainage and connection of VKD with external devices of vacuuming and compression are presented. Specific examples of VCD and their application in surgery are illustrated with photographs. The main results of the research were implemented by the project partner of RADITEH-ltd, where small-scale production of experimental batches of the VCD was established. Experimental samples of VCD have been successfully tested by specialists of the project partner of the OXFORD MEDICAL clinic in the practice of emergency surgery.
