Subject: allozyme, kariological and morphological variability, polyploidy, agamy, parthenogenesis, genetic introgressions, hybrid zones, speciation. Objective: to establish the importance of hybridization processes in the evolution of earthworms and mollusks as one of the mass representatives of the Palearctic biota. Research methods: morphometry, karyological analysis, enzyme electrophoresis, statistical analysis. Results and their novelty: The alloploid nature of the genomes of the studied organisms is established. It is proved that genetic recombination in clonal species avoids the adverse effects of parthenogenesis. Evidence is provided that in these groups of animals hybridization is the primary driving force in sympatric speciation. The results are publiched in 23 publications (1 monograph, 5 publications in SCOPUS, 2 articles in foreign publications, 6 articles, 19 abstracts). Characteristics of the research results: the research was performed using modern methods at the level of world analogues. Significance and practical application: The obtained results are important for solving the problems of taxonomy of apomictic hybridogenic forms and developing the concept of reticular evolution. They can be used to test population-genetic models of interaction of heterogeneous populations, for large-scale description of hybrid zones of invertebrates and in the construction of phylogenetic schemes of different groups. The obtained results allow to analyze the causes of the emergence and stabilization of hybrid zones and to predict their further development. Scope: The results of the study can be used in teaching courses in zoology, population genetics, theory of evolution, evolutionary ecology and special courses in biological disciplines in higher education.
