The purpose of research is to study the theoretical foundations, development of methodological and practical recommendations for managing the potential of modern enterprises in the perspective of their socio-economic development. Research methods. The following methods were used to solve problems and achieve the goal of the study: theoretical generalization and retrospective analysis, analysis and synthesis, abstract-logical, systematic and comparative analysis, historical-logical, statistical analysis, graphical, factor analysis. Theoretical and methodological provisions for the study characteristics of potential management of modern enterprises to ensure their socio-economic development are developed. The conceptual apparatus used for the study of the organizational and economic mechanism of enterprise potential management is analysed and developed; the directions of increasing the level of competitiveness of the enterprise potential are considered; theoretical, methodological and practical aspects of strategic management of enterprise potential are studied; the approach to formation and development of labour potential of the enterprise is offered; recommendations for the implementation of adaptive management of enterprise potential are developed.
