The purpose of the work is to identify the factors that control the depth of extraction of biogenic elements in biological wastewater treatment and self-treatment processes of natural reservoirs. The main factor in the development of eutrophication in natural reservoirs is insufficiently treated urban and industrial wastewater. Therefore, a radical solution to the problem of eutrophication is possible through the use of special technologies for deep removal of nitrogen and phosphorus compounds in wastewater treatment. The most efficient and cost-effective: (EBPR) ‒ improved process of biological removal of phosphorus, and removal of ammonium nitrogen by nitrification and anammox process. However, the processes of microbiological removal of biogenic elements, their biological mechanisms and control effects remain poorly understood. Control effects that increase the efficiency of phosphating and dephosphating, deammonization and deazotization of wastewater have been developed and the mathematical model of biological treatment about compounds biogenic elements has been improved.
