The purpose of the work is to identify the level of soil and air pollution by petroleum products and related environmentally hazardous substances in emissions from industrial objects. It is established that the soils of roadside areas highways are characterized by significantly higher concentrations of petroleum products than the soils in the areas adjacent to the railways. Determining the dynamics of bioindication indicators showed that with increasing concentration of petroleum products, the intensity of soil respiration began to decrease, and catalase activity ‒ mainly increased. Most of the losses hydrocarbons are due to their evaporation from various facilities of the petroleum industry. The main sources of air emissions are tanks. This problem is exacerbated not so much by emissions of hydrocarbons, which predominate in emissions but have low hazard classes and high maximum permissible concentrations (MPC), and sulfur compounds that have hazard class 2 and extremely low MPCs. These compounds are known to have extremely negative effects on the environmental and operational characteristics of industrial objects in various industries. At the water facilities of industrial enterprises, the aggressiveness of hydrogen sulfide ‒ a factor in the reliability and accident of facilities, is exacerbated by the presence of other gaseous emissions (especially petroleum products).
