The subject of research is cognitive-functional and communicative-pragmatic features of English language in terms of linguocultural and comparative aspects. The aim of research: to study cognitive-functional and communicative-pragmatic peculiarities of English language in terms of linguocultural and comparative aspects. Research methods: theoretical general scientific methods;methods of linguistic description and observation; analysis of dictionary definitions, lexicographic and component analyses; structural method; contextual-interpretative and linguopragmatic methods. Results and their novelty: improvement of the ideas of complex analysis of linguistic and sociocultural aspects of discourse with the help of symbiosis of psycho- and linguistic research methods. The results are reflected in publications in Scopus and WoS journals and Ukrainian scientific periodicals; monographs; training and methodological manuals. Characteristics of research results: research results are a contribution to Lexicology; Linguistic Pragmatics;Media Linguistics and can be used in the process of teaching English Lexicology, Stylistics,Pragmalinguistics,Neology. The practical significance of the results obtained: research results may be relevant to specialists interested in genre analysis focused on both the language implementation of text and communicatively pragmatic functions performed by it.
