A method for obtaining liquid crystal mixtures as a sensitive medium for optical sensors of biological objects (organic matter, gases in exhaled air) has been developed. The spectral characteristics of the obtained mixtures in the visible range and their reaction to the influence of biological objects have been studied. The analysis of the obtained results is carried out, and recommendations on using these mixtures in optical sensors are made. Cholesteric liquid crystal doped with nematics has pronounced spectral characteristics during interaction with volatile substances.
