A method has been developed for controlling the power of a promising fast reactor operating in the self-sustaining mode of a nuclear burning wave without intervention into the mobile core of the reactor, but only by changing the efficiency of the radial neutron reflector by adding to its composition a tantalum neutron absorber. Considering a fast reactor with the metallic nuclear fuel of the U-Pu cycle and the Pb-Bi eutectic melt, used both as a coolant and a neutron reflector, we have proved the ability of this technique to control power in a wide range of values, including a forced shutdown with a later restart of the reactor and a safe approach to its equilibrium operation mode. 2. A comparative modeling of the formation of primary radiation defects in disordered equiatomic alloys CoCuFeNi and CoCrFeNi is performed. We demonstrate that the distributions of defect clusters significantly depend not only on the types and number of alloy elements, but also on the symmetry of the crystal lattice. 3. Taking into account glass restructurization, we obtain estimates of the nepheline crystallization rate in glass used for vitrification of radioactive waste. It is shown that in the course of relaxation of the structure, the position of the maximum nucleation rate is shifted towards lower temperatures.
