The main objects of study were nuclei with a large excess of neutrons and protons, hypernuclei and nuclear reactions, which are important for nuclear astrophysics and are associated with the abundance of light nuclei in the universe. New methods for studying three-cluster nuclear systems have been developed to take into account the polarization of binary cluster subsystems. The developed methods were used to study the dynamics of nuclear reactions, to determine the nature and conditions of the existence of resonant states in the three-cluster continuum of light atomic nuclei and to analyze alternative pathways for the synthesis of atomic nuclei in the universe. Also, the above methods were adapted to consider hypernuclei with a cluster structure and successfully tested on several hypernuclei. The results of the calculations are in good agreement with the experimental data, as well as with the results of alternative microscopic and semi-microscopic models.
