Korolenko National Pedagogical University on the topic “Current Issues of Journalism and Training of Media Professionals”. It considers the text in modern mass communications, specially created for large audience. Literary and artistic periodicals of Poltava region of the end of the 20th – beginning of the 21st centuries are analyzed; the dynamics of transformations of journalistic genres are studied; the current trends in the development of Ukrainian literary criticism are outlined. The report clarifies the nature of the visual dominance of the book content and the role of the author’s column in the development of literary skills of future journalists. The publication “Media Alphabet: Info-media Literacy” is complied with NGO “Poltava Press Club” within the grant program of project “Learn to Discern: Info-media Literacy” implemented by IREX (International Research and Exchanges Board) which is supported by the U.K. and U.S. Embassies in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Academy of Ukrainian Press.
