The purpose of the work is to substantiate the conceptual basis for the use of agricultural waste to ensure energy autonomy of agricultural enterprises. Research methods – the theoretical and methodological basis of the study is a systematic approach, as well as used general and special scientific methods of cognition: formal-logical, system-structural, comparative law, abstract-logical, including analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, method of system analysis, economic-statistical, SWOT-analysis, PESTELI-FAMIL (Y) -analysis. Biofuels are considered as the main alternative for traditional fuels. At present, the use of bioenergy resources as raw materials for biofuel production in Ukraine has not become widespread. The study found that with a sufficient supply of biological fuels there will be rapid development and stabilization of the agro-industrial complex, the environmental situation in the country will improve. A promising area for ensuring the country's energy security and reducing dependence on natural gas imports is the organization of biogas production from waste. The introduction of biogas technologies is beneficial both at the level of individual agricultural enterprises and at the household level. It is important that biogas technologies allow to solve, in addition to energy, the other problems – the disposal of organic waste, replacement of mineral fertilizers with biofertilizers, abandonment of traditional energy infrastructure, etc., and this is their high competitiveness and profitability. The conducted developments are of great economic importance for ensuring energy and environmental security of the country, agricultural enterprises and the implementation of innovative directions of economic development.
