The work summarizes previous multi-year research on development prospects and problems of functioning of networks of marine and coastal natural protected areas and waters of the Azov-Black Sea region in accordance with the requirements of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive 2008/56 / EU. The need for research is due to the recommendations of the latest version of the Black Sea Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA; GEF / UNDP BSERP, 2009) on increasing the area of ​​marine protected natural areas, the updated Strategic Plan for Black Sea Restoration and Protection (BSSAP), the requirements of the European Network Strategy marine protected areas (ECMEN, Sofia, 1995). The purpose of scientific work is to prepare scientific and methodological support for the creation and operation of networks of marine and coastal protected areas, territories and their development. The main tasks of scientific work are as follows: - assessment of the state of ecosystem changes within the botanical reserve of national importance "Philophoric field Zernova"; - formation of recommendations for improving the institutional and information support for the functioning of marine protected areas of the Azov-Black Sea region and in the Southern Ocean. The objects of the study are institutional and information support for the creation, operation and development of a network of marine protected areas of the Azov-Black Sea region and in the Southern Ocean. The subject of the study is indicators of the state and trends of institutional development and information support for the functioning of the network of marine and coastal protected areas.
