The relevance and prospects of scientific work is due to the fact that congenital heart defects occupy the first place in the structure of mortality of children in the first year of life. There is no material in the world that would fully meet the requirements of cardiac surgery. The search for the most physiological materials, both synthetic and biological, is a priority today. The practical value of the project is that for the first time in Ukraine the latest materials in cardiac surgery have been developed and put into practice to improve the results of surgical treatment of congenital heart defects, retrospective and prospective analysis of own results of surgical interventions with congenital heart defects, scientifically substantiated optimal methods of decelularization, fixation and storage of xenografts, scientifically substantiated optimal methods of processing and storage of autopericardium.The results of scientific work can be used in the practice of clinical and scientific institutions that diagnose and treat congenital heart disease in children to optimize surgical treatment of congenital heart disease by implementing the latest materials for cardiac surgery, help reduce complications and mortality, improve life in these patients, as well as cost optimization.
