General scientific (i.e. integrative, synergetic, historical, philosophical, systemic, problematic, structural, information-environmental, functional-organizational, prognostic) and special (linguistic, text-centric, communicative, functional) approaches are revealed. Ways to implement these approaches are identified. It is established that the innovativeness of the outlined approaches lies in the application of new methods and techniques and the involvement of new tools and interactive forms of learning in the process of teaching UFL. On the basis of the conducted research the proposals on UFL teaching are developed.
