With the help of the presented concept the whole chain of conditions for creating germanium accumulations is shown, starting with the subtraction of germanium from acidic rocks of the crystalline shield into organic lignin compounds, redistribution of formed organometallic germanium compounds and its accumulation in lignin under heat and mass transfer at different stages, subtraction of these compounds together with lignin at the end of the middle stage of catagenesis. Data from existing mines on the balance reserves of germanium in Pavlograd-Petropavlovsk, Krasnoarmeysk and Donetsk-Makeyevka districts of Donbass were collected. On the example of the c8н formation in the field of the Dniprovska mine, detailed studies on the conditions of germanium in coal were performed and forecast maps of germanium distribution were constructed, with the help of which technical and technological measures can be planned. . The regularities of germanium distribution in the vertical section of the formation have been established, which fully correspond to the empirical regularity of enrichment of some elements (first of all, germanium) in the contact zones of coal seams. Based on the established regularities, a mathematical model was developed, which is based on regression equations that allow predicting the content of germanium in the coal seam.
