This is typical of both paper and electronic presentation of encyclopedic knowledge. It has been studied that national online encyclopedias have been builded in the last decade in most European countries. This contributes to the development of national culture and science, increasing the international prestige of the country and the dissemination of reliable information on the Internet in the language of the people. It is revealed that in Ukraine the development of electronic encyclopedics is due primarily to the creation of fundamental encyclopedic publications, in particular the emergence and improvement of their electronic versions. Ukrainian electronic encyclopedics is developing as a separate area of ​​encyclopedic work and does not replace traditional printed paper encyclopedias, although it introduces some innovations in their preparation. It was found that almost all Ukrainian academic encyclopedias (with some exceptions) presented on the Internet are the achievements of socio-humanitarian scientists who pay tribute to the development of electronic encyclopedics, but the attitude to paper publications as an outdated form of representation of encyclopedic knowledge . It is stated that, despite the advantages of electronic format over paper, there are not many academic online encyclopedias in Ukraine yet. But no complicated calculations are needed to assume that their number will increase soon. This is facilitated by the general informatization of the National Academy of Sciences, designed to improve the efficiency and quality of research at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
