It is established that the method of plasma-induction band melting allows obtaining the largest oriented tungsten single crystals. It is the most promising for the development on its basis of technology for growing large single crystals in the form of bodies of rotation. Based on calculations of the thermal state of single crystals using a mathematical model of the process, which took into account the technological parameters of plasma and induction heat sources, design features of induction heating module and transmission of electromagnetic energy from it to the ingot, a series of field experiments for growing large tungsten single crystals in the form of bodies of rotation. All the main components of the equipment on the assembly site were manufactured and installed, a set of works on its commissioning as part of a specialized section for the cultivation of large single crystals of refractory metals was performed. An additive scheme of plasma-induction process of obtaining tungsten single crystals in the form of rotating bodies has been developed. The peculiarities of layer-by-layer formation of crystals were investigated, which included setting the parameters of droplet transfer of metal to ensure the given geometry of the local metal bath according to the proposed build-up algorithm, and determining the relative feed velocity in the plasma arc. Мonocrystallinе tungsten ingots with a diameter of 85 mm were obtained using the developed innovative 3D technology. It was found that tungsten ingots are single-crystal bodies with disorientation of subunits not more than 5 angular degrees. The directions of application of large tungsten single crystals in the form of rotating bodies and products from them for industrial needs are determined.
