The analysis of the structures of the obtained compounds showed that the developed technological schemes and recommendations are satisfactory and prevent the metallurgical interfacial interaction of titanium with iron and the formation of intermetallic compounds Fe-Ti. Despite the general tendency of formation of intermetallic phases during surfacing of steel on titanium by all considered arc methods, it is determined that the method of plasma surfacing by indirect arc with conductive filler wire is the least critical to their formation and allows to obtain intermetallic layers in minimum thickness with the best quality of formation of rollers of the weld metal. The formation of intermetallic phases TiFe2, TiFe and α-Fe phase enriched with titanium in different percentages for different methods and modes of surfacing was recorded in the transition zone of titanium-steel surfacing. With low heat input, studies have shown the possibility of the formation of TiFe and Ti2Fe phases.
