Hydration of methyl silica was carried out by mechanochemical activation with water and the structure of the hydrate layer was studied by low-temperature 1H NMR spectroscopy. It was found that the adsorbed water is in the form of nanosized clusters with radius R = 0.4-20 nm, some of which are in the strongly associated state, and the other in the weakly associated states. A method of forming a hydrated composite system of silica / betulin has been developed, which provides the possibility of the existence in the surface layer of a significant number of weakly associated forms of water, the properties of which are close to the properties of supercritical water.
