The purpose of the project is to study the theoretical aspects, scientific substantiation of theoretical and methodological principles and development of practical recommendations for improving the efficiency of the enterprise. Research methods: comparison, analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, calculation, monograph, analogies, systems approach, observation, absolute and relative values, comparative and factor analysis, general scientific methods of understanding the objective nature of economic phenomena and processes, fundamental principles of management theory and marketing, scientific generalizations. The results of the study and their scientific novelty are as follows: in-depth conceptual approaches to understanding the economic essence of small business and the peculiarities of small business management; the criteria for classifying an enterprise as a small business are systematized; the peculiarities of small business development in the countries of the world are generalized; measures have been developed to improve the management of the enterprise and the calculation of their economic efficiency; identified areas for improving the management of small businesses based on the experience of EU countries. The European vector of development and integration into the European Union are the prospects that our country has currently chosen for its development, and emphasized its intentions by ratifying the Association Agreement with the EU. In order to achieve this goal, it is necessary to introduce European business standards. In today's globalized economy, it is important to remember that the key to successful business is the use of innovative tools and technologies. With this in mind, the directions of improving the management of small businesses based on the experience of European countries have been identified.
