The purpose of the work is to analyze the use of language units in art texts through the prism of their stylistic possibilities. Theoretical and practical results of the work are to identify the occasional stylistic functioning of language units in the best works of modern Ukrainian literature. A number of articles have been prepared in professional publications, foreign journals, collective monographs on the specifics of stylistic use of phonetic, phraseological, lexical, morphological, syntactic units recorded in literary texts. The question of the functioning and stylistic use of language units has attracted the attention of many scholars, especially grammarians and stylists, as this problem is at the intersection of these sections of linguistics. The identified data are duly substantiated only if the complex application of significant and diverse in nature material – linguistic and literary. Research on Ukrainian linguistic stylistics is one of the urgent tasks of modern linguistics, and therefore the research conducted is on time. The results of the research were used in the work of teachers of the Ukrainian language department of Zaporizhzhya National University during the teaching of basic courses “Modern Ukrainian language”, “Professional-oriented workshop on Ukrainian language”, elective disciplines “Stylistics and culture of speech”, “Language norm and style”. “Culture of oral speech”, as well as used in the preparation of articles, textbooks, manuals, when writing qualifying papers – course and master's. The results of the study are reflected in 29 scientific investigations, of which 7 – in specialized professional publications of Ukraine, 8 are included in scientometric databases, sections in foreign collective monographs – 2, textbook –1.
