And the number of patients with removable dentures is constantly growing due to the significant spread of dental diseases and the progressive aging of the world's population, especially in industrialized countries where life expectancy is increasing. The main materials used to make the bases of plate prostheses are derivatives of acrylic and methacrylic plastic. Their share in all types of removable structures is from 91 to 98%. It should be considered that acrylic plastics, due to their availability and other positive qualities, will remain the main structural materials for the manufacture of removable dentures for a long time, and therefore research is continuing to improve the quality of dentures made of polymeric materials. However, the widespread use of acrylic removable plate prostheses and increasing the number of their manufacture leads to a significant number of complications from the tissues of the prosthetic bed and the body as a whole. As a result of its influence functional and morphological changes in a mucous membrane of an oral cavity are noted. The secretory apparatus of the oral cavity, composition, pH and activity of salivary enzymes also changes, thermoregulation of prosthetic bed tissues is disturbed. It is known that the use of plate prostheses often leads to quite serious complications - prosthetic stomatitis. Moreover, the percentage of these complications in prosthetic carriers is quite high. According to some authors, it ranges from 60-70%. According to other sources, 90% of prosthetic carriers have symptoms of prosthetic stomatitis. And about 25% of patients do not use removable plate prostheses that were made for them. Prosthetic stomatitis is a disease of the oral mucosa caused by a complex effect on the tissues of mechanical, chemical-toxic, microbiological and immunological factors, which are included in one Product Description popup.authors Dubyna Vitaliy O.
