A number of calculation and forecasting methods and complex criteria are presented for determining the level of radionuclide contamination of the territory and products and, accordingly, their radioecological criticality and the possibility of involvement in agricultural production. The most contaminated food products in the territory of Ukrainian Polissia are traditionally cow's milk and "gifts of the forest", in particular wild mushrooms. Methodological recommendations provide a forecast assessment of levels of radioactive contamination of agricultural and forest lands, as well as corresponding agricultural and forest products of the Ukrainian Polissia region. The potential radioecological criticality of ecosystems based on the removal of radionuclides with the obtained products has been assessed, which makes it possible to preliminarily assess the possibility of returning the specified lands to use. Improved resource- and energy-saving models of agricultural production on radioactively contaminated lands of Ukrainian Polissia are proposed. A number of calculation and forecasting methods and complex criteria are presented for determining the level of radionuclide contamination of the territory and products and, accordingly, their radioecological criticality and the possibility of involvement in agricultural production. It was established that the absolute majority of land is suitable for obtaining radiation-safe agricultural and forestry products, provided that the relevant recommendations are followed. The data and suggestions given in the methodological recommendations can be used by the central and local management bodies of radioactively contaminated regions to make operational decisions and develop short- and long-term strategies for the restoration of territories.
