This method is an expanded method of limit intensities recommended by DBN V.2.5-75:2013. A program for computer modelling of the hydraulic modes of the main sewer of the city of Lviv has been compiled. To obtain runoff hydrographs, the method of the generalized dimensionless unit hydrograph developed by SCS USDA was used and adapted to the Ukrainian regulations. The main hydraulic parameters were determined and hydrographs were modeled for 12 sections of the main sewer of the city of Lviv from Khimichna Str. to Lviv WWTP-II. Using the analysis of hydrographs and the maximum surcharge flow rates, critical sections were specified, namely sections 4–5, 5–6 and partially 6–7. Simulations of three variants of the reconstruction of the main sewer were carried out. The variant with the building of an additional sewer line with a length of 3260 m between nodes 4 and 9 with a cross-section width of 6.0 m and a height of 4.0 m is recommended. The introduction of an improved method of hydraulic modelling will increase the reliability of modelling the combined sewerage systems in other cities of Ukraine and the world.
