It is shown that it is possible to increase the accuracy of hole processing during drilling by making each subsequent pass with drills of larger diameters, and during boring - by removing the allowance for one or more passes of the tool (to ensure the accuracy of the size of the processed hole) and increasing the number of passes of the tool (for ensuring the concentricity of the hole). The reliability of the obtained theoretical solutions was experimentally confirmed by the development of an effective technological process of mechanical processing of the threaded hole in the cylinder neck, which implements the optimal processing route using a progressive basing scheme - along the edge of the end of the cylinder neck using a basing cone, which ensures the materialization of the cylinder axis; the developed design of a special tool head, which ensures the concentration of transitions and the creation of a finishing technological base. This made it possible to significantly increase the accuracy of processing. High-performance technological processes of high-speed milling of holes and arc grooves with a width of 2.5...5.0 mm in parts made of hardened steels with a hardness of HRC 51...56 using modern high-speed CNC machines of the "Picomax 60" type have also been developed. It has been established that in the conditions of high-speed milling, high accuracy of processing is ensured - the deviation from cylindricity varies within 0.01 mm, which was not achieved before using existing technologies. A 2.5-fold increase in machining productivity and a 4-fold increase in the durability of end mills are also achieved. The main results of the research were implemented in the educational process of Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics and implemented in the activities of the Limited Liability Company «VARITEK» (Dnipro).
