The object of the research is the main development trends of the European Union (EU) and the European Association of National Metrological Institutes (EURAMET). The subject of research is innovative development of the EU and scientific projects of EURAMET. The research method is the analysis of directions of innovative development of the EU and scientific projects of EURAMET. The novelty of the work is that for the first time a comprehensive study of the directions of innovative development of the EU and scientific projects of EURAMET has been carried out. Implementation of the work - the results of the research were used to prepare proposals that will make it possible to build a modern metrological system in Ukraine that meets European requirements. Recommendations for using the results of the work - the results of the work can be used to prepare proposals for optimizing the structure of the national metrological system, which are necessary to meet the needs of the innovative development of the economy, science, and technology in Ukraine. The scope of application is to ensure the unity of measurements in Ukraine during the performance of metrological services. Economic efficiency of work - an important trend in the development of modern European metrology is to ensure the innovative development of the EU and the rapidly growing needs in metrology when solving many tasks of the economy, science, and technology thanks to scientific projects within the framework of EURAMET. One of the main objectives of scientific projects within the framework of EURAMET is to support innovative activities through the development of new technologies, industry joint research projects and introduction into industry.
