It was shown that course administration of pyridoxal-5-phosphate improved the work of the respiratory chain of heart mitochondria of old rats, which is probably related to the activation of hydrogen sulfide synthesis, the transport of K+ ions in mitochondria, and the functioning of UCP3. It was found that the content of the reduced form of glutathione in heart tissues increases by 1.5 times already 30 minutes after the introduction of the glutathione preparation, and its introduction contributed to the recovery of the contractile function of the ischemic myocardium during reperfusion, probably by inhibiting the Ca2+-dependent formation of mPTP. In addition, microinjections of the glutathione drug into the nuclei of the dorsomedial part of the medulla oblongata of rats are mostly accompanied by the development of hypotensive reactions that are dose-dependent. It was shown that a single intravenous injection of a recombinant EMAP II protein donor into old rats completely restored the endothelium-dependent relaxation of aortic smooth muscles. The inhibitor of hydrogen sulfide synthesis, propargylglycine, did not affect the membrane potential of endothelial cells under conditions of rest and stimulation with acetylcholine, but in combination with L-cysteine prevented the development of oxidative-nitrosative stress in the myocardium and increased the survival of rats after focal ischemia-reperfusion of the brain.
