The optimal concentration of 3-bromopyruvate (50 mg/kg) was selected, which showed a certain antitumor effect (extending the lifespan of tumor-bearing mice by 30%), but at the same time was still non-toxic to the body of experimental animals. Unfortunately, the combination of this agent and a low-carbohydrate diet had a pronounced antagonistic effect, leading to rapid death of animals with NK/Ly lymphoma, even earlier than in the control group (no treatment), indicating the inappropriateness of the combination of 3-bromopyruvate and a low-carbohydrate diet in clinical studies. The use of hydroxycitrate at a daily dose of 500 mg/kg, which is tolerated by healthy animals, had little effect on the survival of animals with NK/Ly lymphoma compared with the control group - all mice died on day 21 after tumor inoculation, whereas animals treated with low-carbohydrate diet, lived until the 28th day. Combination of hydroxycitrate and diet did not show anу antagonistic effect (as in the case of 3-bromopyruvate), but also did not extend the life span of tumor-bearing animals compared to a low-carbohydrate diet. Thus, the therapeutic efficacy of hydroxycitrate and 3-bromopyruvate in the treatment of murine NK/Ly lymphoma was not confirmed, and the inappropriateness of combining glycolysis inhibitors and a low-carbohydrate diet in in vivo experiments was demonstrated for the first time Product Description popup.authors Lehka Liliya Viktorivna Lootsik Maxim Dmytrovych Panchuk Rostyslav Ruslanovych Skorokhyd Nadiya Romanivna Stoika Rostyslav Stepanovych Fayura Lyubov Romanivna Fedorovych Daria Vasylivna Tsyrulnyk Andriy Oleksandrovych Chumak Vira Vasylivna Shafranska Halyna Ivanivna popup.nrat_date 2022-10-31 Close
