Characteristics of Treatment and Rehabilitation of Common Therapeutic Diseases in Overweight Patients in Family Practice popup.stage_title Head Velichko Valentina Ivanivna, д.мед.н. Registration Date 17-11-2022 Organization Odessa National Medical University popup.description2  The screening study revealed hyperglycemia in 26.97% of the examined. Among the patients with hyperglycemia, the following were diagnosed: prediabetes in 67.25%, previously detected type 2 diabetes in 18.71%, newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes in 14.04% of the examined. The conducted study revealed that the quality of life of patients with prediabetes combined with excess body weight is impaired mainly due to a decrease in physical health indicators (physical functioning (65.7±6.75) points versus (83.4±6.21) points of the control group). Regular classes under the "Diabetes and overweight schools" program help patients with prediabetes to improve their quality of life. Diabetes screening is an effective method of early diagnosis of this pathology, as well as identification of risk groups, primarily prediabetes, among the population for further targeted prevention of carbohydrate metabolism disorders and their complications.
