Heightening of the effectiveness of epileptic activity control via combined usage of pharmacological agents and not-invasive brain structures stimulation popup.stage_title Head Hodlevskyi Leonid S., д.мед.н. Registration Date 29-11-2022 Organization Odessa National Medical University popup.description2  The antiepileptic effectiveness of axitinib and pioglitazone applied both independently and against the background of transcranial direct current stimulation (TDCS) of the cerebellum was examined. On the model of pentylenetetrazol-induced kindling, it was established that the use of axitinib, a tyrosine kinase B blocker, enhances the anticonvulsant effectiveness of cerebellar TDCS. The role of γ-receptors activated by peroxisomal proliferator (PPARγ) in the development of antiepileptic effects has been established. It was determined that blockade of PPARγ with diglycidyl ester of bisphenol A - 2,2-[(1-methylethylidene) bis (4,1-phenyleneoxymethylene)] bis-oxirane (BADGE, 100.0 mg/kg, IV) eliminates the anticonvulsant effects of TDCS, while their activation with the use of pioglitazone (100.0 mg/kg, intravenously) enhances their anticonvulsant effectiveness in relation to behavioral and electrographic epileptiform manifestations.
